Is The QR Code Generator free?

The QR Code Generator, also called TQRCG, asks you to sign up and includes 2 free ad-supported dynamic codes with 14 days of analytics history. More codes and longer history need a paid plan.

QRToolset makes static codes without an account or trial. Choose it when you need a saved image for a stable link or a set of connection details. Paid QRToolset plans also offer editable links, hosted files and visit trends.

What exactly will your printed code contain?

A direct static QRToolset website code contains its destination and opens it with nothing in between. Optional redirect and editable codes use QRToolset hosting.

Dynamic codes use a managed address that can lead to a different destination later. This can avoid reprinting, but it depends on the redirect service. Check what happens to your code when a plan or account ends.

Where QRToolset makes the everyday task simpler

QRToolset lets you create Website, Text, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp, UPI and Google Review codes on your phone. The preview updates as you type, with PNG, SVG and Share controls in the mobile toolbar.

Sharing opens your device’s file-sharing options when supported, or downloads PNG otherwise. Try the full process on your phone to decide whether it fits your work. We have not measured a speed advantage over TQRCG.

When you need editable links and scan reports

TQRCG offers dynamic destinations and scan analytics. Its help centre says that when you cancel your account or subscription, the codes in your dashboard are deactivated, so every printed copy stops working.

QRToolset counts visits only on paid editable links, and the counts include repeat scans and bots. If you cancel, those links keep their last destination with a short free redirect page. Static codes are never tracked; if one points to your own website, your site’s analytics can measure the visits.

Check the file, then choose the service

Create a code for the same destination in each tool. Scan the saved files, check their links and test one printed copy at its real size. Include the lighting and distance your audience will use.

QRToolset publishes this comparison and is not affiliated with TQRCG. Official feature descriptions were checked on 27 September 2026. We have not audited TQRCG’s security or tested every paid feature.

Before you share

  • Confirm whether you selected a static or dynamic code.
  • Inspect the encoded destination and test the final download.
  • Use QRToolset for simple static files; compare cancellation terms if you need later edits.

Common questions

Is The QR Code Generator free?

It needs a signup and includes 2 free ad-supported dynamic codes with 14 days of analytics; more dynamic codes need a paid plan. Its help centre says cancelling deactivates the codes in your dashboard. QRToolset static codes are free with no account.

What happens to a dynamic QR code when a trial ends?

The redirect usually stops resolving, which breaks every printed copy of that code. This is the single most important question to ask any dynamic provider before printing, and it is why static codes remain the safer choice for permanent signage.

Can I track scans on a free QR code?

Not on a static code, because no server is involved when someone scans it. Counting visits requires a redirect, which means a dynamic code. QRToolset shows visit trends on paid plans and is explicit that the counts include repeat scans and bots.

Which generator should I choose for printed materials?

For permanent print, choose whichever gives you a static code you can keep, and hold the file yourself. For anything you expect to update, compare what happens to the redirect when you stop paying, not the price of the first month.
