Choose the features your business needs
One review card and a campaign with hundreds of editable codes are different jobs. Decide whether you need a finished image or an ongoing system for managing QR codes.
QRToolset handles individual static codes for links, Wi-Fi, messages, reviews and payment IDs. Add your details, check the preview and save the file. Static generation needs no account. Optional paid editable codes manage destinations through your QRToolset account.
What QRCodeChimp adds for larger workflows
QRCodeChimp offers dynamic codes, bulk creation, digital business cards, folders and scan analytics, alongside design customization. Availability depends on the plan.
Choose a management platform when you need those features. Test it with representative records and check access, exports and recurring costs before printing. QRToolset has no bulk uploads, folders or team seats; its paid dashboard manages up to 100 editable codes.
Compare static and dynamic limits separately
QRCodeChimp lists unlimited static codes on its free plan, plus 10 dynamic codes that share 1,000 scans a month. When the monthly cap is reached, dynamic codes pause until the next month, so a busy printed code can stop mid-month.
QRToolset offers free static codes and paid editable URL codes. PNG and SVG downloads and logo upload are free, and the saved image has no scan cap. To change the data inside it, create a new file.
Plan for a changed menu, phone number or link
A static QR can link to a webpage you control. You can update that page while keeping the same URL and printed QR. If the URL itself changes, the code needs replacing.
A new WhatsApp number or Wi-Fi password needs a new code. For payments, check the recipient in your UPI app before sharing. A generator can format the details without verifying account ownership.
When QRToolset is the better alternative
Choose QRToolset for a QR you can save, share and print from your phone. Its live preview and optional color and size controls keep a single task straightforward. Your fields stay in your browser during generation.
Choose a management platform for bulk work, folders or many dynamic codes. QRToolset wrote this comparison using official sources checked on 27 September 2026. It is a feature comparison, not an independent security audit or performance benchmark.
Common questions
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static code carries its destination inside the image and cannot be changed after printing. A dynamic code carries a short redirect URL, so the destination can be edited later and visits can be counted, but it stops working if the provider’s redirect goes away.
Is QRCodeChimp free?
It has a free plan with unlimited static codes and 10 dynamic codes that share 1,000 scans a month; dynamic codes pause at the cap and resume the next month. Paid plans start at $9.99 a month. QRToolset gives unlimited free static codes with no account, and prices editable links from $9 a month.
Do I need an account to create a QR code?
Not on QRToolset for a static code. Uploading a file or creating an editable link needs an account, because both require hosting. Most dynamic-first services ask you to sign up before you see the code at all.
Which is better for a restaurant menu?
Whichever one lets you change the PDF without reprinting table cards, which means a dynamic code on either service. If your menu genuinely never changes, a free static code pointing at a hosted PDF costs nothing on either.
